Biographies

Lisa J. Carnell, Ph.D.
Dr. Carnell is an associate professor of mathematics at High Point University. She teaches mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education courses. For over 15 years she has worked with the Summer Advantage Program and its predecessors. Dr. Carnell holds degrees in mathematics and curriculum and teaching.

Beth Holder, Ph.D.
Dr. Holder is Associate Professor in the School of Education. She has worked in the field of special education for twenty years in public education and higher education. She currently works with teacher education candidates working towards licensure in special education for students with mild disabilities. She also served as Coordinator of Students with Disabilities at an area college and continues to volunteer in the public schools. 

Dr. D. Allen Goedeke
Dr. Goedeke is the Associate Dean for Academic Development.  He has worked at High Point University since 1985.

Craig C. Curty, M.Ed.
Mr. Curty is the Director of Academic Services Center.  He is currently enrolled in the Leadership Studies Doctoral Program at North Carolina A&T State University.  His primary responsibility is the University's Tutorial Center.  He also oversees Disability Services, Supplemental Instruction, and the ASC Computer Lab.  Mr. Curty has worked at High Point University since 1995.

Kim Soban, M.S., NCC, LPC
Ms. Soban is the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services. She is currently ABD in a counseling doctoral program at Capella University. Ms. Soban is accompanied in the Counseling Center by Sydney, a chocolate labrador retriever therapy dog.
