Art Program

The curriculum of the visual arts program encourages exploration of the creative process and communication through the visual arts. It provides the resources to develop a strong foundation in the studio arts, including sculpture, photography, drawing, design, painting, printmaking and digital media. Students examine philosophical, theoretical and historical perspectives in order to gain a deeper knowledge of the value of visual art. Students also gain pragmatic insight into the artistic process.

Our program prides itself in the attention we give students and the unique opportunities afforded them including out-of-town field trips, overseas tours, special workshops and guest speakers. Resources in the Hayworth Fine Arts Building and the Sechrest Gallery provide unique learning resources, including our new Apple design lab, permanant collection and rotating exhibitions.
