Greetings future Panthers!
I hope that you are doing well and that you are excited for the Thanksgiving holiday that is right around the corner. Our students here at High Point University are very excited, and you can tell that by the signs that they made last week as a part of our Gratitude Project.
The Gratitude Project has become something of a tradition here at HPU. Students go to our Slane Student Center, which is one of the central hubs of activity here on campus. There, they are provided with markers and large poster boards, and they are asked to write down one thing that they are thankful for this year.
Responses range from the humorous to the heartfelt. One student was thankful for pizza. Another was thankful that they had the opportunity to be the first in their family to go to college. A staff member was thankful for his amazing, awesome, and totally rad fiancé (alright, I have to confess, that was meJ), and another was thankful for working at such an extraordinary place. Our community is filled with people who know that their lives are special and meaningful, and that it is important to be thankful for all that we have.
So, in the spirit of the Gratitude Project here at High Point University, I invite you to share what you are thankful for in your life. Post a comment to this blog entry and let everyone know what you’re giving thanks for this year.
I hope that you and your families have a wonderful, joyous, and happy Thanksgiving!
