Last Wednesday, High Point University welcomed bestselling author and marketing pioneer Seth Godin as the headline of the Spring Cultural Enrichment Series.

University president, Dr. Nido Qubein had a Q & A with Godin that is planned to air on

UNC-TV later this month. Then Godin addressed students, faculty, staff and other guests in a lecture.

Godin, author of “Purple Cow,” “Poke the Box” and “Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?” was named one of the top 21 speakers for the 21st century by Successful Meetings magazine. He draws his speeches on his best-selling books and years of changing the landscape of marketing to bring audiences of all kinds to their feet.

Also last week, the Civitan Club received two international awards. The HPU chapter was honored with “Campus Club of the Year” and “Service Project of the Year” for 2012.

The club’s “Stop Hunger Now” event earned them the recognition. Student raised funds and then assembled 10,000 meal packs in August. The packs were sent around the wold to feed impoverished families.
