Ways to get Involved
Become an Alumni Association Board of Director
The Board of Directors Nominations Committee is seeking names of alumni whom you think would be effective members of the Board of Directors.
The mission of High Point University Alumni Association is to act as an advisory board and liaison to the administration of the University on matters related to alumni relations and alumni communications. Also to instill an appreciation for HPU through any and all alumni activities on/off campus and through all available media - involving all HPU publications as well as any other sports/educational opportunity.
If you are interested in becoming an Alumni Board Member or making a nomination, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations or click here to submit on online form.
Become an Alumni Chapter Representative
An alumni chapter is an organized group of High Point University graduates, former students, parents and friends of the University who live within a designated geographic area. Each chapter has volunteer representatives that works with the Office of Alumni Relations to plan, implement and evaluate chapter programs and activities. Alumni Chapter representatives are invited to attend and participate in all Alumni Board meetings. If you are interested in planning or implementing club programs and activities contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
Become a Regional Representative
Regional Representatives are HPU ambassadors across the country located in cities where there are currently no official HPU alumni chapters. As a Regional Representative, you will be our primary liaison for engaging local alumni, coordinating alumni activities, and promoting HPU to future students and their families.
Become an Affinity Club Representative
An affinity club is an organized group of High Point University graduates, former students, parents and friends of the University who share a common bond through an affinity while on campus or other special interest. Many of these groups are based on a shared academic discipline, student activities, or other special factors. Similarly to chapter volunteer representatives each affinity club representative works with the Office of Alumni Relations to plan, implement and evaluate programs and activities. Affinity club representatives are invited to attend and participate in all Alumni Board meetings. If you are interested in planning or implementing club programs and activities contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
Become an Annual Scholarship Fund Volunteer
Generosity comes in the form of time as well as financial support. You can assist the college in raising those all-important funds by encouraging others to contribute with their dollars as well as their hearts. You will perform a crucial service for HPU while re-connecting with your classmates via phone, mail, email, or even by hosting an event. If you are interested in helping with the scholarship fund please contact Chad Hartman at chartman@highpoint.edu or 336.841.9239
Become a Reunion Planning Volunteer
Make your reunion the best it can be! Help the Alumni Office plan special activities for your class or affinity group. The most important role of the Reunion volunteers is to inform their classmates about a reunion and entice them to return to campus. They do mailings, make personal calls and write special notes to classmates to help spread the word. Volunteers find this part of their job especially rewarding since they get to catch up with friends while encouraging their classmates to participate in a Reunion. If you are interested in planning or implementing a reunion contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
Please contact Nikki Hayes, Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, anytime at (336) 841-9044 or nhayes@highpoint.edu with any comments, suggestions, or questions.
