Setsuya Kotani, born in Japan was a professor of painting and ceramics at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. With regard to his paintings Kotani wishes the viewer to "learn to live with questions," and suggests narrative through minimalism and ambiguity. Mr. Kotani explores transcendent experience with hushed color harmonies in the context of endlessness and mystery. His work depicts an aerial world which is a new figuration of beauty and meditative stillness. It is a visual language of eloquence and individuality.

Bill Brown has been a full-time studio sculptor from 1978 to the present. He divides his artistic energy between creating individual sculptures and sculptural commission work. His work is included in private collections throughout North America, museum exhibitions, invitational and gallery shows. Bill Brown's sculpture seeks to translate inspiration into tangible expression by allowing the realities of his heart and soul to forge a potent meeting between matter and spirit. >Mr. Brown refers to the sculpture that he creates as an artistic transformation of life experiences, and his interpretation of the natural and spiritual world. It involves the exploration of the plasticity of steel and the challenges of transforming materials, thought, and energy into art.
