HPU Alumnus Appointed As Chief of Staff For RNC

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 27, 2009 – High Point University alumnus Ken McKay is busy making his way to the top, thanks to his recent appointment as chief of staff for the Republican National Committee. At his post, he will assist the Office of RNC Chairman Michael Steele.
McKay, who received a Bachelor of Science in biology from HPU in 1991 and a law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law, resides in Rhode Island, where he manages his own law firm.
McKay, who formerly worked with Brown Rudnick, a large firm headquartered in Boston that has offices in New York, Rhode Island, London, Connecticut and Washington, D.C., was chosen for his experience – and because it is widely accepted that he is not afraid of a challenge.
Those familiar with McKay’s track record know that he is a real-life practitioner of both campaigning and governing, and that he has experience managing very complex operations and making things work.
Having previously served as chief of staff for Rhode Island Gov. Don Carcieri for more than three years, and having managed two successful governor’s races in arguably the most democratic state in America, McKay has plenty of experience to help support the RNC.
