HIGH POINT, N.C., March 3, 2009 – High Point University student Jennifer Arnold, from Charleston, W.Va., will soon be in the spotlight, thanks to a big role she’ll play in “The Producers,” a production by the High Point Community Theatre.
Arnold, a sophomore majoring in performance theatre and pre-med, will play the role of Ulla Inga Hansen Benson Yansen Tallen Hallen Svaden Swanson in the production. Ulla, a character originally introduced by Mel Brooks in his 1968 film, is a Swedish bombshell who auditions for producers Max Bialystock and Leopold Bloom with her song, “When You Got It, Flaunt It.” They hire Ulla to be their secretary and receptionist.
Arnold has most recently held roles as Rosamund in HPU’s “The Robber Bridegroom” and played Sandy in the Charleston Light Opera Guild’s production of “Grease.”
“The Producers” will be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 5, at 8 p.m. on March 6 and 7, and at 2 p.m. on March 8.
