HPU To Host Production Of 'Periphery' By Community Theater Of Greensboro

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 9, 2009 ? High Point University will host a production of “Periphery,” performed by the Community Theater of Greensboro, at 7:30 p.m. on March 22 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The production is open to the public.
 
The play, written by Ed Simpson, professor of theatre and chair of the Department of Performing Arts at HPU, highlights the events of Feb. 1, 1960 – the sit-in by four African-American college students at a Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro. The production, directed by Michael Kamtman, a faculty member from Greensboro College, features Doug Brown, instructor of theatre at HPU.
 
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $3 for children 12 and under, and $5 for any non-HPU students. To purchase tickets, contact the HPU Box Office at Hayworth Fine Arts Center at 336-841-4673.
