HPU Dean Of School Of Education Honored As Recipient Of 2009 Women Extraordinaire Award

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 11, 2009 ? Dr. Mariann Tillery, dean of the School of Education at High Point University, was recently honored as one of the recipients of the 2009 Women Extraordinaire Award, given by Business Leader Media. The eighth annual awards event was held on Dec. 8 at the Revolution Mill Event Center in Greensboro.

Tillery, who will appear alongside other honorees in the December issue of Business Leader Triad, was chosen out of a record number of nominations.

The award is given to honor accomplished women business leaders in the Triad community. Honorees must be women of outstanding accomplishment, a leader, innovator, problem-solver and an inspiration and mentor to others. Honorees were leaders from large and small businesses, professional and educational institutions.

Tillery’s family, along with Dr. Dennis Carroll, provost and vice president for academic affairs at HPU, and Dr. Barbara Leonard, associate dean of the School of Education, attended the event as well.
