HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 11, 2009 ? High Point University’s Jeff Karpovich has a new set of wheels ? he is the winner of the United Way of Greater High Point?s annual car giveaway.
The prize is fitting, considering that Karpovich serves as the director of security and transportation at HPU.
Karpovich, who said the experience of winning the car was surreal, was one of 10 finalists drawn from the United Way?s 3,300 fair share donors.
Karpovich can choose between a 2009 Toyota Yaris, a 2009 Nissan Versa, a 2009 Honda Fit or a 2009 Chevy Colorado from Vann York Auto Group.
HPU employee giving to the 2009 United Way campaign has increased 128 percent over employee giving in 2004.
