Posted on July 30, 2010.

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 30, 2010 – Trey Hicks, a rising senior at High Point University, is spending his summer learning valuable career skills at his internship as a technician at Macro Integration Services Inc.

As part of his internship, Hicks has worked as a technician, repairing computers for Stage Stores Inc., and with the “outbound” department, which is responsible for documenting, imaging, and shipping repaired computers, printers, scanners, and monitors.

“I’ve learned firsthand how important information systems are for businesses and have gained knowledge as to how they help businesses succeed,” says Hicks, who is majoring in computer information systems at HPU.

Additionally, Hicks says that the environment that he has experienced in his internship has shown him how the different components of a business can work together to help both businesses and customers achieve their goals.

“As a result of my internship,” says Hicks. “I have seen why information systems are so important, and it makes me appreciate my degree even more because it gives me the ability to help any business succeed.”
