HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 12, 2010 – Dr. Alixandra Yanus has been hired as assistant professor of political science in the Department of Political Science at High Point University.
Yanus, who is originally from Kutztown, Pa., received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from American University, as well as a Master of Arts degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in political science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In her new position, Yanus will be responsible for teaching introductory courses in political thought and American politics, upper division courses on political institutions, women and politics, and judicial politics, and co-teaching the department’s senior seminar. Additionally, she will be responsible for mentoring students majoring in political science regarding career and graduate school decisions, as well as conducting research in political science.
