HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 21, 2010 – Tony Gutowski, a senior majoring in communications at High Point University, recently interned as a sports production assistant at WGHP FOX8 in High Point, N.C.
As part of his internship, Gutowski was responsible for producing, editing, logging and recording game highlights and interviews, developing show scripts, organizing video archives, and assisting in live studio productions. He also was given the opportunity to travel and assist in weekly on-location shoots, including high school and Carolina Panthers football games and college athletic press conferences.
“This experience has given me an up-close look of what it takes to work in television and be successful on a daily basis,” says Gutowski. “It has also allowed me to develop relationships with experienced individuals from which I have gained both personal tips on how to succeed, and references toward future job opportunities.”
