HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 19, 2011 – High Point University students enrolled in entrepreneurship classes taught by Lou Anne Flanders-Stec, assistant professor and director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, received a special presentation from investor and entrepreneur Troy Knauss during the fall 2010 semester.
Knauss, a member of the Angel Capital Association Board and their Syndication Committee, is a founding member of Guardant Partners, an administrative company that manages private angel investor funds, as well as Velum Partners, a private equity opportunity group.
Knauss, who has a wealth of information and knowledge about the current state of early-stage investing, shared a number of insider tips with students, as well as the ins and outs of raising capital in today’s environment.
“I thoroughly enjoyed his contributions to the class, and learned a lot from Mr. Knauss,” says Casey Pisano, a senior majoring in entrepreneurship. “I believe having him in class assists in ‘bridging the gap between the classroom and the real world.’ Experiences such as this, as well as dynamic entrepreneurship classes aid in my transition from a student to an employee.”
