HPU Junior Lands Prestigious Editing Internship

HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 14, 2010 – Andrew Faust, a junior at High Point University, was recently selected by the Dow Jones News Fund to work as a multimedia editor at Scripps Networks in Nashville, Tenn.

Faust, a double major in biology and communications, was selected as one of 68 interns nationwide. The internship, which is available for college juniors, seniors and graduate students, selects interns based on their academic performance, score on the DJNF Copy Editing Exam and news outlet requests.

“The Dow Jones Copy Editing Internship is very competitive and the fact that one of our HPU students got accepted is a great honor,” says Dr. Nahed Eltantawy, assistant professor of journalism. “I am very proud of Andrew and am confident that he will excel in this internship.”

As part of his internship, Faust will attend a pre-internship residency at Western Kentucky University, work as a multimedia editor for a Scripps Network website and receive a scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year.

“I am extremely excited to be selected for this internship,” says Faust. “High Point University has undoubtedly prepared me for this internship, and I am looking forward to representing HPU as a DJNF Intern.”
