HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 22, 2011 – Kevin Kucharski, a senior double-majoring in finance and accounting with a minor in economics at High Point University, recently received the Chartered Financial Analyst Program’s Level 1 exam scholarship.
The scholarship, which is available to college seniors, covers the CFA Program enrollment costs and significantly discounts the cost of registration. The CFA designation is an international professional certification offered by the CFA Institute to financial analysts who complete a series of three exams. The program is highly respected in both the investment and financial communities with more than 79,000 investment professionals holding the CFA charter.
Kucharski, one of several HPU students who traveled to the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City’s Times Square to ring the NASDAQ closing bell last spring, will start the exam process in the next few months.
“The primary benefit in gaining the Chartered Financial Analyst designation is that it will provide me with an extremely strong foundation of the skills and knowledge necessary for me to succeed and serve clients,” says Kucharski. “I appreciate the skills HPU has given me in preparing for this.”
