HIGH POINT, N.C., April 8, 2011 ? The HPU College Republicans, Politics Club and the Department of Political Science teamed up to host retired Lt. Col. Robert ?Buzz? Patterson as a guest speaker on campus April 11.
?We chose to bring Patterson as a speaker in order for HPU students to gain a fresh perspective of the Clinton presidency,? says John Gillespie, president of College Republicans. ?We hope that people left the talk with a greater appreciation for our military and those that lead it.?
Patterson is the author of two New York Times best sellers, has served as the senior military aide to former President Bill Clinton and was the operational commander for all military units assigned to the White House, including Air Force One, Marine One, Camp David, White House Transportation Agency and White House Mess. He served 20 years on active duty in the military with distinction. He saw tours of duty as an Air Force pilot during combat operations in Grenada, Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti and Bosnia.
