HIGH POINT, N.C., April 29, 2011 ? Elizabeth Ermis has been hired as an information technologist by the Office of Information Technology at High Point University.
Ermis, whose expertise is in collaborative learning and collaborative learning space design, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at Elon University, and a Master of Science degree in instructional design and technology at Emporia State University.
?I?m very excited to be joining the staff of High Point University,? says Ermis. ?Instructional design and technology has great growth potential at HPU, and I?m looking forward to being part of that.?
As part of her new position, Ermis will work with faculty to develop teaching and learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Ermis will also help with HPUAWAY, a new program designed to allow HPU students the opportunity to continue taking classes over the summer from the comfort of home. Additionally, she will work with faculty to explore new instructional design theories and ways to utilize technology to meet the needs of students and faculty members.
?I?m excited to help faculty and students recognize the impact of the education they receive at HPU in their learning outside the classroom,? says Ermis.
Additionally, Ermis is actively involved with the March of Dimes March for Babies in Greensboro, N.C., and was the top individual fundraiser for 2010.
