Sorority Scores Big With Spring Fundraisers

Zeta Tau Alpha at High Point University recently took a swing at curing cancer by raising nearly $12,000 during their annual golf tournament and ?Pink Pancake Flapjack Attack.?

The tournament was held at the Holly Ridge Golf Course and aimed to raise funds for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, the sorority?s national philanthropy.

As part of the ?Pink Pancake Flapjack Attack,? the sorority provided a late-night snack to students on campus during one weekend, by selling pink pancakes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. outside of the Point Place Apartment Buildings. The proceeds also went to fund breast cancer research.

Zeta Tau Alpha also was named HPU?s Sorority of the Year at the 2011 Honors Day award ceremony. The Sorority of the Year is selected based on a wide range of criteria including participation both in and outside of the Greek Community, philanthropic events and academic performance. The award recognizes a chapter and its members who consistently demonstrate the utmost positive values and ideals of membership in fraternity and sorority life.
