HIGH POINT, N.C., July 5, 2011 – Emily Lloyd, a rising senior at High Point University, is gaining valuable design experience, thanks to a summer internship in the graphics department at Freeman Company. The company, in Lanham, Md., specializes in face-to-face marketing. Some of their clients include Microsoft, Paula Dean and Fancy Foods.
Lloyd, a marketing major with a minor in graphic design, works on various projects for the company, including making sure printed projects are primed and ready for display at various show sites – conventions, trade shows, career fairs and more – where the projects are presented.
Lloyd says she’s especially grateful for the knowledge she has learned in courses at HPU, including graphic design, which has given her an advantage in her position.
“The company’s quote is, ?Do it right the first time every time,’ which makes me strive to be the best,” Lloyd says.
After graduation, Lloyd plans to pursue a career in advertising.
