Fiser Joins Physics Department

HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 29, 2011 – Briana Fiser recently joined the High Point University as assistant professor of physics in the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Fiser specializes in the fields of biological physics, nanoscience, material science, mathematics and chemistry.

“I see my responsibilities as teaching and helping students develop a better understanding of physics and the natural world around them, encouraging students in their search for what motivates and moves them, and generally mentoring them as they advance through college,” Fiser says.

“Joining a university that is eager to put such strong emphasis on all aspects of undergraduate education including teaching, mentoring, and research is a privilege,” she says.

Fiser, originally from Ocean Springs, Miss., earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is completing her doctorate in physics from UNC-Chapel Hill.
