HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 12, 2011 – Thanks to the generosity of a High Point University student’s parent, the community will have the unique opportunity to view a rare presidential collection that includes the original signatures of all 44 presidents of the United States.
The Historic Memorabilia Exhibition: Office of the U.S. Presidency is on loan from the HPU parent in the Sechrest Art Gallery through Oct. 13. The collection consists of 65 pieces that, in addition to signatures from presidents, include signatures from all 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence. The autographs are presented with photographs and authentic documents.
“High Point University parents are our strongest advocates and they support our mission every day and in thousands of ways,” says HPU president Dr. Nido Qubein. “We are grateful to host such an impressive collection of Presidential memorabilia. Students, faculty, staff and visitors will be moved by the scope of this impressive historical collection.”
The Sechrest Gallery is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Call 336-841-4685 for more information.
