HIGH POINT, N.C., May 30, 2012 – The Army ROTC Aggie Battalion, Panther Company, recently honored Hillary Kokajko, director of student activities and campus engagement at High Point University, with the ROTC Appreciation Award.
Kokajko was given the award to acknowledge the commitment she made to assist the program, and it recognizes her “with heartfelt gratitude for being an invaluable asset to the growth and sustainment of the ROTC program at High Point University.”
“I am proud to assist any student group, but in particular I have a passion for the armed forces,” Kokajko says. “Anything I can do to help raise awareness of what these students are gearing up to do for our country, sign me up.”
Kokajko has watched the ROTC detachment flourish in her time at HPU. She took note of how they travel to North Carolina A&T University every morning for training and two additional times a week for classes, so she offers her services to help with their events.
“They are always doing something for the community – whether it is raising money or simply helping out,” Kokajko adds.
