HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 8, 2012 – Dr. Tjai Nielsen, associate professor of management at High Point University, received a Best Reviewer Award from the “Journal of Organizational Behavior” (JOB) at its annual editorial board meeting during the Annual Academy of Management Conference.
Nielsen has served on the JOB editorial board since 2008, during which he has edited more than 25 papers. JOB’s Impact Factor by Thompson Reuters ranks it seventh out of 113 journals in the business category.
This is the second year in a row that Nielsen has received the award that is determined by the average of all ratings his reviews have received during the previous year.
Service on JOB’s editorial board has facilitated Nielsen’s ability to accurately assess the scholarly contribution of research and provide constructive feedback to writers to help them improve their work.
“These skill sets facilitate my ability to help students improve the quality of their written work while maintaining their enthusiasm,” says Nielsen.
In addition to the Best Reviewer Award, Nielsen was also selected to present his paper, Paying It Forward: A Trickle-Down Model of Citizenship Instrumentality, at the Annual Academy of Management Conference held in Boston Aug. 3-7.
“I hope to use the knowledge I’ve gained to improve my research and reviewing efforts which will hopefully enhance HPU’s growing research reputation,” Nielsen says.
