High Point University Blood Drive HPU CaresThe Student Government Association also donated $6,000. Athletics will be donating a dollar for every upper-level seat for basketball games until Dec. 2, and donations boxes will be located in the Millis Center and Hayworth Fine Arts Center for the community to participate. In addition to the money raised, 61 pints of blood were donated at the blood drive on Nov. 14.

“Our students wanted to help families affected by Hurricane Sandy; many who were directly affected by loss of homes and damage,” says Gail Tuttle, vice president for student life. “Students wanted to help with recovery efforts and focus on helping the region. In times of loss, the HPU community is always ready to help those in need and our students do this on a continual basis.”
