Art Instructor Internationally Recognized for Work

High Point University Professor Bruce Shores HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 18, 2012 – Bruce Shores, instructor of art at High Point University, received two Special Recognition Awards for his artwork in the 10th Annual Color: Bold/Subtle Juried Online International Art Exhibition at the Upstream People Gallery in Omaha, Neb.

Shores was one of 43 artists selected out of 225 art entries from around the world. He was given the Special Recognition Awards for his oil paintings, “Cotton Field” and “Neighborhood Street.”

“Receiving these awards is an honor,” said Shores. “It means that as a teacher I am maintaining a career as a professional artist which helps me bring to the classroom this experience so I can model to the students what being a professional artist is all about.”

The exhibition will be featured online during December at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com and will continue indefinitely.
