HPU Invites Community to Exhilarating Greensboro Symphony Concert

HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 15, 2013 – High Point University will take audiences through an exhilarating repertoire of musical selections as part of a concert presented by the Greensboro Symphony. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The concert, which will be led by world-renowned violinist and conductor Dmitry Sitkovetsky, will feature everything from Tango to Fantasy are part of a celebration of all composers influenced by Bizet’s popular opera, “Carmen.” The concert will take the audience on an emotional roller coaster with Albeniz’ “Two Tangos,” Bizet’s “Carmen Suite,” Sarasate’s “Carmen Fantasy for Violin,” and Shchedrin’s arrangement of the “Carmen Suite.”
