Band Partners with N. Forsyth Band for ‘Let’s Go to the Movies!’

HPU High Point University BandHIGH POINT, N.C., April 3, 2013 – The High Point University Band will host its spring concert, “Let’s Go to the Movies!” at 7:30 p.m. on April 16 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the public.

The HPU University Band will partner with the North Forsyth High School Symphonic Band, to feature the music of John Williams, classic movie favorites, current movie hits and memorable movie songs, including tracks from “The Lion King,” “Les Miserables,” “Up,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and a host of Disney movies.

Dr. Danny Frye, assistant professor of music at HPU, says that students and community members are sure to hear something that will bring a smile during this exciting evening of music.

“We are excited to partner with the North Forsyth High Band for this concert,” Frye says. “We look forward to welcoming the students and their families to a lovely day on campus and a shared concert. It is going to be a highlight of an outstanding year of instrumental at HPU.”
