HIGH POINT, N.C., March 29, 2013 – Shouts of joy filled High Point University’s Hayworth Park during a “Big Brothers, Big Sisters Easter Egg Hunt,” organized by the big brothers and sisters at HPU.

“They really wanted to do something special for their little brothers and sisters,” said Teresa Jackson, match support specialist at Big Brothers, Big Sisters. “It’s also great for the little brothers and sisters to get out and see the campus. I actually heard a few say, ‘I’m going to go to school here someday,’ which was great to hear.”

The big brothers and sisters each put together a dozen eggs, filled them with candy and hid them around the park. Then their little brothers and sisters set off on and adventure to fill their Easter bags.

“The Easter egg hunt on campus is a very important event for the club,” said organizer Elizabeth Higgins. “The ‘littles’ really enjoy being able to come to campus to see their ‘bigs.’ They always have a good time when they come to campus.”

This was the second year the club hosted an Easter egg hunt, and the big brothers and sisters say they plan to hold another hunt next year.
