HIGH POINT, N.C., April 12, 2013 – High Point University’s women’s a cappella group, the Petal Points, is set to release their second studio album, “Evolution.” The album will be unveiled following the group’s annual spring concert, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 23 in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The event is open to the public; no tickets are required.
The high-energy album includes 13 tracks and covers of everything from Michael Jackson and Jessie J. to the musical “Spring Awakening.” It will be available at the HPU Bookstore, on iTunes, through Spotify and at local Piedmont Triad businesses.
Jenna Soltys, Petal Points president, says the album came together thanks to help from the Student Government Association, The Vocal Company out of New York and North Carolina, and support from friends and family.
“The process of fundraising, recording, preparing and soon-to-be releasing has been a lot of work and a lot of fun,” says Soltys. “We could never have asked for a better, more hard-working group of girls or a more supportive university to make this happen.”
