HIGH POINT, N.C., April 22, 2013 – High Point University students go above and beyond to make a difference in their community. Every year, HPU takes one night to recognize them and their work during the annual Honors Day Awards ceremony.

This year, the four students receiving the top university awards excel in the classroom, are leaders in multiple organizations around campus and have found time to work with philanthropic organizations outside of the university such as the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

The awards included:

• The University Award for Leadership: Steven Haller

• The University Award for Achievement: Rebecca Irvine

• The University Award for Service: Dylan Robinson

• The University Award for Citizenship: Alicia Berry

During the ceremony, each academic department also honored students’ academic achievements.

Jones, Dana Lindblad, Maura E. Maloney, Clayton W. McQuiddy, Tyler S. Steelman, Maggie J. Sturdevant, Bradley G. Taylor, Janay M. Whittaker and Amber L. Willamson
