HPU to Showcase Talents from Symphonic Band in Fall Band Concert

HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 10, 2013 – Community members will have an opportunity to experience the talents of the High Point University Symphonic Band thanks to the upcoming Fall Band Concert. The event, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, is open to the public; tickets are not required.

The upcoming concert will feature a variety of musical styles ranging from marches to traditional band staples, to contemporary music. Some of the pieces to be featured include “Encanto, Whirlwind(s),” “A Longford Legend” and “American Hymnsong Suite.”

“We truly hope to engage our audience with a number of musical selections that are sure to entertain,” says Danny Frye, director of Instrumental Studies. “Our students are dedicated to their art, and we are delighted to share their talents with HPU and the community.”
