HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 10, 2013 – Dr. Frederick Schneid, professor and chair of the Department of History at High Point University, has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Military History.

Schneid, a respected European historian with an expertise in military history, will participate in the review of articles submitted to the journal and make decisions about content and publication along with the editorial board. The journal is the quarterly publication of the Society for Military History.

“It is an honor to serve on the editorial board of the most prominent military history journal in the United States, and one of the world’s leading journals in this field,” says Schneid.

Schneid also serves as the southern regional director for the Society for Military History, and has been an active member for 25 years.

The Society for Military History was established in 1933 as the American Military History Foundation, renamed in 1939 the American Military Institute, and renamed again in 1990 the Society for Military History.
