Tri Sigma Raises Money for Hospital Play Therapy

Posted on October 31, 2013.

HPUnify 2013 2HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 31, 2013 – The sisters of HPU’s Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority raised more than $1,400 over their philanthropy week to benefit play therapy in hospitals. The money raised goes to children’s hospitals around the country.

The sisters held a series of fundraising events throughout the week.

“I was so happy to see the support we got from other organizations on campus,” added philanthropy chair Emily Harris. “My goal was to host events that would be both fun and profitable, and I think we really achieved that this week.”

The sorority also held their third annual HPUnify service event, which teams up sisters with members of High Point Special Olympics teams for an afternoon of fun activities.

“It was great to see the smiles and excitement on the athletes faces as they played sports cooperatively with students. I couldn’t have asked for a more successful event,” said service co-chair Jessica Pikowski.
