Former Fulbright Scholar Joins Freshman Success Program

HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 6, 2013 – High Point University recently hired Jason Vuic as an adviser and coach for the Freshman Success program.

He is responsible for helping freshmen accomplish their goals as they begin their path to academic success.

As a former history professor and administrator, Vuic understands the importance of student advising.

“I advise approximately 160 freshmen in 18 majors. I advise on course scheduling and other academic matters,” says Vuic. “I address and seek to support students in almost any aspect of their freshman year with adjustment and student life.”

Along with being a former Fulbright scholar in 1997-98 and 2000-01, Vuic was also a Rotary International scholar in 1997 and 1998.

Vuic received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Wake Forest University, a Master of Arts in history from the University of Richmond, and a Ph.D. in history from Indiana University.
