HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 21, 2013 – Danita Salone is the new assistant director of admissions at High Point University.
Salone is responsible for counseling students through the college admission process, providing them with information about HPU and coaching them on overall options to go to college. She oversees admissions of students from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
“I’m really excited to join the HPU community,” Salone says. “There are great and exciting things happening here, and it’s monumental to be a part of such a growing and progressive institution.”
Through her admissions role, she says she has the opportunity to be on the front lines and serve as that first point of contact to prospective students.
“I strongly believe in building relationships, and it’s my hope that I will develop formidable relationships with our students and empower them to want more, pursue more and be the best person they were created to be.”
Salone has a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Westmar University in Iowa. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, and has expertise in multicultural recruitment, first-generation and college access counseling.
