HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 2, 2013 – Dr. Yan Yang, assistant professor of journalism, is one of 25 professors across the country to be awarded the NATPE’s prestigious faculty fellowship for 2014.
The fellowship allows Yang to attend the NATPE convention in 2014 and join discussions with television industry executives and other educators about the future of television programming.
“I want to ensure that my students understand the relationship between creativity and business in the real world and teach them the dynamics between content provision and content promotion,” says Yang. “By attending the conference and workshops, I will be able to better relate media sales to the creative side of the industry.”
The NATPE’s annual conference is one of the most important television programming conventions; when show producers meet and pitch their ideas to network executives.
