12.23.2013

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 23, 2013 – The UNC-TV network will broadcast a special program titled, “High Point University Presents: Lessons in Leadership,” featuring three successful CEOs in a roundtable discussion on the important role of leadership in North Carolina. The program will air on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m.

The three CEOs featured on the program are Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, former U.S. Ambassador and CEO of Pace Communications; Kelly King, chairman and CEO of BB&T Corporation; and Ric Elias, CEO and co-founder of Red Ventures. All three spent time at HPU talking to business students before joining the roundtable, moderated by HPU President Nido Qubein. They said the key to success is to believe in yourself, believe in your team and believe in your core values.

This is the latest in a series of specials that UNC-TV has presented on HPU’s Cultural Enrichment Series. Past specials have included discussions with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; bestselling author and marketing pioneer Seth Godin; HPU’s entrepreneurship roundtable discussion with business leaders including Gov. Pat McCrory and racing CEO Richard Childress; as well as a presentation with Malcolm Gladwell, bestselling author and one of Time Magazines 100 Most Influential People.
