Associate Professor’s Painting Accepted at National Exhibition

“Angry Reflection”

HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 28, 2014 – Scott Raynor, chair of the art department at High Point University, recently had one of his pieces shown at the San Diego Museum of Art’s “Reflections” exhibit.

The piece, “Angry Reflection,” depicts a portrait of Raynor’s late father who was battling a terminal illness.

“This work grows out of some memories that I have of my late father when he was in the final stages battling Lou Gehrig’s disease,” explains Raynor. “These are difficult images to create and they are not easy to look at or understand, but I appreciate the support of the Art Guild of the San Diego Museum and their willingness to show this type of work.”

The exhibit was juried by Mark-Elliott Lugo, artist and curator of the San Diego Arts Library. It took place Jan. 3 to Jan. 13.
