HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 13, 2014 – Four High Point University students were selected out of thousands of applicants to receive the Scholarship, Leadership Award from the national Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The award is given to the top two percent of all Kappa Sigma undergraduates in the country and recognizes them for their leadership on campus and in the community.
The honored students are seniors Matt Jakubowski, Nick Bamatter, Casey Hiers and junior John Marsicano.
Bamatter credits HPU with helping them all qualify for such a distinctive award. “HPU has really given me every opportunity to make the absolute most of my four years here, and I know the other recipients feel the same way,” he says. “We have learned to approach our leadership roles with confidence and we are humbled that our hard work has been recognized on the national level.”
The four students will be recognized in New Orleans at the organization’s national conference in July.
