HPU Welcomes 5,000 for Winter Family Weekend

Winter Family Weekend 2014 2 Winter Family Weekend 2014 1HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 3, 2014 – High Point University welcomed 5,000 visitors this past weekend for the annual “Family Weekend.” The weekend brings an economic boost to the city of High Point and the greater Triad area every year. The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the weekend had an economic impact of more than $1.2 million on the surrounding community.

During the weekend, students’ families enjoyed academic panels, entertainment, a screening of the Biography Channel Movie: “Nido R. Qubein, a Life of Success and Significance,” and a tour of the state-of-the-art Human Biomechanics and Physiology Lab.

HPU has an annual economic impact of $464.5 million on the state and brings more than 80,000 visitors to High Point each year.
