With a successful 2014 Commencement Ceremony behind us, recent High Point University graduates are preparing to commence prestigious career paths around the world at Fortune 500 companies, international service programs, public school systems, top-tier law, medical and graduate school programs, and many other esteemed organizations thanks to their journey at HPU. Here’s a glimpse of one extraordinary senior from the Class of 2014:
Name: Abigail “Abby” Johe
Major: Johe graduated with a B.S.B.A. in Accounting on May 3.
Post-graduation plans: Johe will be attending the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va. to pursue a master’s degree in accounting.
Most impactful moment/class/professor from HPU: “One of the most impactful events of my past four years here at High Point University was the President’s Seminar on life skills. One of the most meaningful lessons from Dr. Qubein was “who you spend time with is who you become.” This has inspired me to surround myself with people who are also motivated, high-achieving, and have similar values as myself. This also impacted my decision to attend graduate school at the College of William and Mary, knowing that I will be where so many influential people have studied such as Thomas Jefferson.”
How HPU helped you achieve them: “My experience at HPU has far surpassed my expectations! My professors, especially Professor Noxon, have provided a plethora of guidance, advice and support throughout out my four years here. Also, the Office of Career & Internship Services, in particular, Bridget Holcombe, has provided me with outstanding assistance throughout the entire graduate school application process.”
