HIGH POINT, N.C., May 23, 2014 – High Point University will honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for this nation by lowering all 78 flags on campus to half-staff on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.

“High Point University is a God, family, and country school,” says Dr. Nido Qubein, HPU president. “We are grateful for our nation’s system of free enterprise and appreciative to the United States military that selflessly serves to protect our home and freedom.”

A Memorial Day Service organized by HPU graduate and staff member Nick Ruden will also be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the High Point Veterans Memorial at S. Main Street and High Avenue across from the train depot. Ruden, a High Point native, began organizing the service 11 years ago.
