Name: Carina Kelly

Major: Kelly graduated with an Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education on May 3.

Post-graduation plans: Kelly will continue to work as a second grade teacher at Cone Elementary School in Greensboro, N.C.

How HPU helped you get there: “Enrolling into the MAT program at HPU was what helped me pursue my mid-life career change to teaching.”

Most impactful professor at HPU: “Dr. Debbie Linville was my most impactful professor at HPU.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “When we were faced with the challenge of taking on more than your average 6-9 credit per semester course load in order to meet the demands of the state requirement for Masters Degree pay increase for teachers.  I received nothing but the utmost encouragement and support from each and every professor I had during that year. Faced with this challenge and working full time created one of the hardest but most challenging years of my life.”
