HIGH POINT, N.C., July 10, 2014 – Dr. Wilfred Tremblay, Dean of the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication, was recently appointed to the Piedmont Triad Film Commission’s board of directors.

The board advocates for movie companies to film in the Triad in order to provide work for film industry employees and to enhance economic benefits for the area, including added business for hotels, catering services and local shops. The board also advocates for the state to continue film incentives.

“I’m honored and pleased that my experience and skills will be used to help grow the film industry in the Triad and enrich my community,” says Tremblay.

“Dr. Tremblay came highly recommended by several members of the Piedmont Triad Film Commission Board of Directors,” says Rebecca Clark, executive director of the Piedmont Triad Film Commission. “We look forward to working with him, High Point University and the Qubein School of Communication to educate students about opportunities to work in the film industry in the Piedmont Triad and North Carolina upon graduation. We are confident that Dr. Tremblay’s knowledge, expertise and tenacity will help us to forward the Piedmont Triad Film Commission’s organizational mission of recruiting more film business, dollars and jobs to the region.”

Tremblay says his new appointment will also bring new connections and opportunities for HPU communication students in the film industry.
