HPU Recognized Again for Distinction

Posted on July 7, 2014.

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 7, 2014 – High Point University has been named to the 2014-15 Colleges of Distinction list, a unique college guide that honors institutions with an innovative, teacher-centered undergraduate education and a strong record of preparing graduates for real-world success. This is the fourth consecutive year HPU has been included on the list.

The Colleges of Distinction list is based upon exemplary commitment to four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes. The distinction reflects HPU’s values-based, holistic education model, which prepares students not for the world as it is, but for the world as it is going to be. HPU is one of eight universities in North Carolina to be named to the list.

HPU appreciates all recognition and rankings, but the university treasures most the affirmation it receives from parents who have entrusted the growth and development of their student here.

“Within our son’s freshman year, he had access to a senior level project that sparked a new passion in his major,” said Heather Gaetano, mother of a current student. “Now the dean of that school is encouraging him and a fellow student to develop their own independent study. Thank you High Point University for creating an inspiring hands-on environment with supportive staff that instill an ‘anything is possible’ approach to the world.”
