HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 17, 2014 – High Point University recently welcomed Brian McDonald as assistant director of the Survey Research Center.
His primary responsibilities include managing the staff of interviewers, developing research instruments, fielding research projects and analyzing data. He also promotes the findings from the center’s surveys and research throughout the university and greater community.
McDonald comes to HPU with 10 years of experience in telephone interviewing, survey research, market research, data analysis and moderating focus groups. Since the Survey Research Center employs student interviewers to help collect data for the HPU Poll and other surveys, he helps students prepare for careers in research by building their professional knowledge in research ethics, project management and data analysis.
“I am excited for my role at HPU because it allows me to provide valuable resources to faculty, staff and students,” he says. “Students are provided an opportunity to learn valuable work and life skills in a research-based environment. The SRC supports faculty and staff as well, by providing access to the research-rich resources we have to offer.”
McDonald, who is originally from Akron, Ohio, received both his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Kent State University.
