HIGH POINT, N.C., May 7, 2015 – Dr. Jim Wehrley, dean of the Phillips School of Business at High Point University, was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the High Point Economic Development Corporation.
Wehrley joins the board of business, education and government leaders as a non-voting liaison. The High Point EDC, a public/private partnership that is a department of city government, conducts important work to assist local companies in expanding and attract new businesses to the City of High Point.
“Having a representative of High Point University on our Board of Directors is important, since HPU is a major economic engine for our city and region,” says Loren Hill, president of the High Point EDC. “I have known and worked with Dr. Wehrley for several years, and I know his perspective will be a valuable addition to the High Point EDC’s work.”
“I am pleased to serve as High Point University’s liaison to the High Point Economic Development Corporation,” Wehrley says. “Loren Hill has served for many years on the Phillips School of Business Advisory Board. I look forward to reciprocating and working with all the board members.”
Wehrley also serves on the board of Family Service of the Piedmont Inc.
