HPU Brings Free Over-the-Counter Medicine to Community

HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct 12, 2015 – High Point University, NC MedAssist and High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church teamed up to give away free over-the-counter drugs to the High Point community on Oct. 9 at the High Point University Community Center. This is the second OTC give away day in High Point and event organizers served over 1,000 individuals. Each participant received at least $80 worth of OTC products, including items such as allergy relief, pain relief, indigestion relief, cold medicine, first-aid and vitamins for all ages.

“This event has helped so many people,” said James Brown, High Point community member. “A lot of people cannot afford over-the-counter medicine today, especially during the cold and flu season. Many are having to decide between food and medicine for their family. This is going to make a huge impact on people in the area.”
